Flashing

Pieces of metals used to prevent seepage of water around any intersection in a roof system, such as valleys, chimneys, vent pipes, or vertical walls.

Insulation

Material used to keep the ideal temperature of a building and it also reduces the flow of heat.

Louvers

Ventilation for the space below a roof deck, and it also equalizes not only air temperature, but moisture as well. These are can be installed in a gable.

Sheathing

Sheet material or board that is fastened to rafters to cover the commercial building or house.

Plastic Cement

A “Type 1” asphalt roof cement that’s a mixture of solvent-based bitumen, mineral stabilizers, and other fibers. It’s used on relatively low slopes, and never on vertical surfaces.

Underlayment

An asphalt-saturated felt, but can also be another form of sheet material which is installed between the roof system and roof deck. Usually utilized in steep-slope roof construction.
